‘Der Fachmann’ (‘The Professional’)

Original drawing, depicted in the magazine Simplicissimus, 23 May, 1937, 42th Volume, book 20, page 275.
By Erich Schilling, one of Germany’s greatest cartoonists who produced around 1500 cartoons from 1905 to 1945.
Schilling committed suicide on April 30, 1945 (same day as Hitler), shortly before the American troops captured his hometown Gauting (near Munich).

Lower side of the original drawing (4 cm of the paper is folded).

‘How wonderful, this warm spring night! Do you smell the lovely scent?’
‘Sure, I noticed for a long time that darlings buy the latest perfume hit, up to 22,5 Mark.’
