‘Die badende’ (‘Bathing’)
Biography: Josef Thorak
Bronze.
The surface of the sculpture is somewhat rough and less smooth as was popular in the Third Reich, indicating a date of creation earlier than 1937.
A figur in plaster with a rather similar pose by Thorak, ‘Schreitende’ (‘Striding’), was depicted in ‘Westermanns Monatshefte’, 195. Band, 1930/31.
